Residential Life
HOUSING:
COSMOS is designed as a residential program and as such aims to foster a community of students who share a balance of academic and social activities. All students must reside in the dorms for the duration of COSMOS. Participants will live in UCI residence halls under the supervision of on site resident teaching advisors (RAs). Students will be able to check out on Fridays, starting at 4:00p.m., to spend the weekend with their families. Students must return to campus Sunday night by 7:30p.m.
MEALS:
Residence hall food is served cafeteria-style, three times a day with a wide selection of food including fresh fruit, an array of salads, and chocolate covered ants (just kidding). All meals will be served at Pippin Commons.
HEALTH SERVICES:
Emergency medical services are available for COSMOS participants at the UCI Student Health Center. Facilities include a complete outpatient clinic staffed by physicians and nurses, supported by an X-ray and clinical laboratory. Clinic services are available on a fee-for-service basis. Upon admission to COSMOS, all parents must complete and sign the "Emergency Information Release" form as a condition of admission to UCI COSMOS.
STUDENT CONDUCT:
COSMOS participants are expected to behave with respect towards fellow students, faculty, resident teaching advisors and the UCI campus. Students must read and sign a code of conduct. COSMOS reserves the right to dismiss a student for cause.
ACCOMMODATIONS FOR PARENTS:
Parents, please surf the web for Orange County hotel options. There are many price ranges available.
