Meals

Residence hall food is served cafeteria-style, three times a day with a wide selection of food including fresh fruit, an array of salads, and several choices for entree, daily soups and sandwich bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at Brandywine Commons in the Middle Earth dorm area. Reasonable accommodations will be made for special dietary needs (i.e. kosher, vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, etc). Please email the program staff at cosmos@uci.edu at least two weeks prior to the program start date for dietary restrictions.

Breakfast: 7:00am – 8:45am
Lunch: 12:00pm – 1:00pm (may change slightly due to cluster schedule)
Dinner: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Meal Cards and Room Keys

At check-in, students will be issued a meal card and a room card by Middle Earth Housing. These cards are necessary for admittance into the dining facilities and entrance to the dormitory. If a meal card is lost, damaged or stolen, the student must report it to their RA, and in turn must be reported to the Middle Earth office so a replacement can be issued.  The student is responsible to pay $10 for a lost/replacement meal card. No meals can be provided without the meal card. Students also receive a room card which if lost, is subject to a $25 replacement fee. Both cards should be kept in the COSMOS name tag holder and safeguarded.
